For any fans of all things immersive, the name ‘Puy Du Fou’ fills you with instant intrigue and a sense of other-worldly quality experiences. So, when the parks’ producers announced a new SIX DAY immersive experience called ‘The Grand Tour’ was in production, you could just imagine how ground-breaking this would be!

Puy Du Fou is a 55-hectare pseudo-theme park located in Les Epesses, France. Marketed as ‘much more than a traditional theme park’, the entire premise of the experience is that you’re enveloped into historical re-enactments that are so realistic you could be fooled into thinking you have time travelled.

Visited by more than two million visitors every year – it is quickly becoming one of the most visited experience parks in the whole of Europe and for a ride-less theme park, is wading head and shoulders above some of the larger-named parks in mainland Europe!

The park is synonymous with creating some of the best theming, high-end production shows and a 1,000-performer evening spectacular… but their new venture ‘Le Grand Tour’ is something a little different.

Le Grand Tour is an incredibly unique experience set aboard a train that travels through some of France’s most-beautiful surroundings on a six-day, five-night immersive theatre experience like no other. You and up to 29 other passengers board an authentic Belle Epoque train and visit locations including Champagne, Burgundy, Lake Annecy, the Arcachon Basin, the Châteaux of the Loire Valley, and the Palais des Papes in Avignon.

This ground-breaking attraction combines a travel across France with immersive theatre in a never-before-seen production that is truly outstanding. Taking inspiration from the golden days of yesteryear and the ‘Grand Tour’ across Europe – this experience will set you back a cool €4,900 per person as you take in the sights and sounds of over 4,000km.

Puy Du Fou expect to attract 6,000 guests when Le Grand Tour launches in 2023 – a figure that can only jump up significantly once the rave reviews surely set in.

Could this be the start of a new form of immersive experience, combining traditional travel agencies and immersive theatre? I sure hope so – keep your eyes peeled on Puy Du Fou’s social media pages for new details that will surely leak in the coming months.
