Having worked with Zappar, the world’s leading platform augmented reality platform and creative studio to produce a number of AR concepts for several of our clients such as TUI and Birmingham Airport, it was great to hear that Legoland Windsor has chosen the same platform for their Lego Mythica Augmented Reality Experience in the Legoland App.
By pointing their phone’s camera at the AR-activated LEGO structures, portals to other worlds will open up, creatures will come to life, and a wealth of fun facts about the area will be unlocked This allows guests a unique opportunity to lose themselves in the story of Mythica on their own terms, no longer confining themselves to their physical surroundings.

The delivery of additional content through AR functionality has endless opportunities. We already understand the powerful connection that is created when storytelling makes use of an individual’s personal device (of which, nowadays, is absolutely seen as an extension of their person). We feel the combination of physical experiences and Augmented Reality to enhance the customer experience is going to be a strong proposition for Legoland Mythica and we can’t wait to try it out!
At The Business Creative, we’ve used Zap Codes for all manner of projects, from transforming dull daily quizzes into multi-media marvels -right through to creating a whole new parallel universe for Birmingham Airport’s Sky Side concept. We’ve always found the platform to be incredible versatile and intuitive, and although not an entirely new technology, we find AR can still create that ‘wow’ moment’.
