Our Saturday night radio show Wish You Were Queer on Travel Radio was packed with loads of information and tips on LGBTQ+ travel and all the usual fun and queer features. Could you decipher the clues in this week’s game of The Flying Handbag and guess who the celebrity is who left their stuff in our lost property?

David Winterton, Global Director of Brand and Marketing for the award-winning company Emerald Cruises, has a lot of knowledge within the travel industry and he very kindly shares some of his wisdom with us. Jamie and David discuss some really amazing locations, including wonderful city break destinations such as European cities with beautiful buildings, including Barcelona and Budapest, and of course we discover some amazing cruising locations in Vietnam and Cambodia. These are vibrant and cultural locations that really excite the senses.

David discusses his role at Emerald Cruises and with over 30 years in the travel industry, he gives his thoughts on the industry. How is it adapting and could it be more inclusive for the LGBTQ+ community? We also look at current trends, including information on how Covid has affected the way companies have changed their way of working.

Calling all Huns, we have Gareth from Instagram sensation @Hunsnet and his how Holibob like a Hun poolside tips! And a destination to get excited and plan for with our chosen weekly Proud Package is Mexico City’s Gay Pride, one of the largest and wildest Pride events in Latin America.

Top or Bottom, let’s find out who made our naughty or nice list in week 6.

Ranked in Bottom was Turkey for their discrimination against gay men. We also had horrific news about US transgender shootings and a grisly wave of transphobic violence, and St Lucia is another country we have red-flagged for legal challenges faced by those who are a part of the LGBT community.

On Top, we celebrate the first transgender Miss USA. Malta ranks Top for its LGBT friendly progressive social attitudes and we also discuss Sweden’s historic progress for LGBTQ+ rights.
