Our Saturday night radio show, Wish You Were Queer on Travel Radio, was packed with loads of information and tips on LGBTQ+ travel and all the usual fun and queer features.
We had a really exciting Hotseat guest this week; Felipe Cardenas, the chairman of the board of directors for the IGLTA, and also the CEO for the Colombian LGBT Chamber of Commerce. Felipe tells us all about the IGLTA and the mission of the organisation and their work with members from over 80 countries around the world, all striving to create inclusive travel experiences.

We also find out what is compelling travel organisations to add LGBTQ travel to their brand propositions. And how Felipe thinks that gay travel will evolve over the next 5 years, as he envisions more welcoming, inclusive and safer spaces for diverse families and trans travel.
As the first Latino, Colombian and first under 40-year-old male, it really shows a reflection of how progressive IGLTA is, moving forward to become more diverse and to strive to diversify gay travel. Felipe is personally doing his very best to represent and make big changes for other faces and intersexuality, and ensuring more women are travelling and enjoying diverse experiences.
As the CEO of the Columbian LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Felipe tells us all about what Colombia has to offer a queer traveller as an emerging LGBT destination, including a sensational experience of mixing nature and sexual diversity – what a combination!
And of course, we find out what Felipe’s personal favourite hot holiday destinations are.
On Top and Bottom we had what’s hot and unfortunately what’s not in the world right now.
Ranking bottom this week, we discussed Donald Trump and homophobic Hungarian autocrat Viktor Orbán, sharing a common interest in stripping LGBT+ rights. And more cruel bills popping up – this week as an Arizona lawmaker is ringing in the new year by introducing two new bills targeting trans youth in the state.
However, it’s not all bad. The world celebrated Israel as they now allow surrogacy for same-sex couples after a decade-long legal battle. And good news, ranking top came Lithuania and the UK!
Will you be able to decipher the clues and guess which celebrity it was who left their melons behind in our lost luggage in the hilarious Flying Handbag feature? Or maybe Jamie’s featured Proud Package will get your attention.
And we had another fantastic tip from Gareth Howell, creator of the sensational Instagram page @Hunsnet, as he shared some exclusive advice for Huns that like to Holibob.
